You can serve God and man in no more effective way than by getting rich; that is if you get rich by the creative method and not by the competitive one ~ Wallace D. Wattles
Is it right and noble to be content with ‘honest poverty’ if you are capable of having more? The truth is you, me and everyone else are all wonderful human beings, capable of achieving far more than we ever even dream of. By nature, we are extremely resilient with the ability to adapt to any environment and culture on earth. This process of enculturation typically takes place at an early age. From the very beginning, even during our time in the womb, we are being shaped and programmed to be a perfect fit for the environment that we are born into.
It’s a process that has been at work for a long, long time; it’s a process that works well .. as long as you’re happy with your place in your current environment.
But many people are not content just to grow up and live as their parents have. Many people want more .. but wishing for more doesn't seem to be enough .. there is something holding them back .. something very powerful. What makes this force all the more difficult to challenge and change is the fact that it is hidden from us, in fact most people don't even realize it exists.
We are all tattooed in the crib with the beliefs of our tribe ~ Oliver Wendall Holmes
There are powerful ideas we adopted years ago that control how we see the world, how we explain it to ourselves and how we operate within it. These ideas enable us to exist in our current environment .. but they are the very ideas that hold us back from rising out of our environment and allow us to embrace a more complete and fulfilling life. Most of these ideas we never challenge because they appear self evident .. they appear to be true!
We've acquired ideas about EVERYTHING including what it means to be rich. If you are like most people, the ideas you've adopted about money have come through people who have never had the success you want.
You must get rid of the last vestige of the old idea that there is a Deity whose will it is that you should be poor ~ Wallace D. Wattles
